CREATION
During the Autumn of 2000, Mary Cunningham Agee, realized her dream of establishing a boutique wine company that would build upon her history as Executive Vice-President of the Seagram Wine Company and the first female member of the prestigious Compagnons du Beaujolais. The earliest vintages of AUREA were exclusively Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.

Since the inception of AUREA, we have been determined to produce wines that unite traditional wisdom with modern innovation. In keeping with this guiding principle, we decided that it was time to refresh our brand image and relaunch AUREA with an eye toward the future while honoring our history.
2016 Merlot
Sourced from the Castellucci Vineyard in Saint Helena and blended at Trinitas Cellars in Napa, this outstanding wine exhibits balanced flavors of raspberry, black cherry cassis and pomegranate. Merlot’s soft tannins result in a silky finish making this varietal ideal for a wide range of food pairings.
This special vintage honors the life and legacy of William Joseph Agee, beloved husband of our founder, Mary Cunningham Agee.
His memory will live on in our wine forever.
